About Arizona Club Prep

BETWEEN REC
AND CLUB
SITS US

Arizona Club Prep is the program for kids who have outgrown rec but are not ready for national-tour elite club. Structured play, real games, real competition — at a price a normal family can afford.

Two ways to play

House team or Independent team.

House team

Full-stack Club Prep

Tryouts. Two practices a week. Equipment. Jerseys. Full league schedule. Certified refs. Live scorekeeping. Insurance. End-of-season playoff. You sign your kid up; we handle the rest.

Independent team

Bring your own team

You bring your team staff, the team, the equipment, and the practice facility. We give you a league to plug into — schedule, jerseys, refs, scorekeeping, insurance, and the same end-of-season playoff. AZYS-graduated teams get 25 percent off the first season.

Common questions

FAQ

What is Arizona Club Prep?

Arizona Club Prep is the next step for athletes who have outgrown rec leagues but are not ready for the time and cost of a national-tour club team. We run structured competition and real divisions across five sports — at a price that fits a family budget.

Where does Club Prep sit between rec and elite club?

AZ Youth Sports is rec — community leagues, every player gets a jersey, casual schedules. Elite club is the other end — multi-thousand-dollar season fees, weekend tournaments out of state, year-round commitment. Arizona Club Prep is the middle: structured competitive play, an indoor facility, but a season fee under $350 and home games in Mesa.

What is the difference between a House team and an Independent team?

House teams are run end-to-end by Arizona Club Prep — indoor practices, equipment, jerseys, full game schedule, refs, scorekeeping, and insurance. Independent teams bring their own team staff, equipment, and practice facility, but plug into the Club Prep league for game days, jerseys, schedule, refs, scorekeeping, and insurance. Both teams play the same league with the same officiating and the same end-of-season playoff.

How does the tryout fee work?

Every Club Prep sport charges a $15 tryout fee at signup through TeamSnap. If your child makes a team, the $15 is credited toward the season fee. The tryout fee itself is non-refundable.

Can my child play more than one Club Prep sport at the same time?

Yes. Practice schedules are coordinated across sports where possible. Reach out before registering for two seasons that overlap so we can flag any conflicts before tryouts.

How are AZCP and AZ Youth Sports related?

Both are programs under USA Rec Sports. AZ Youth Sports runs K through 6 community rec leagues. Arizona Club Prep is the natural next step for AZYS rec players who want a more competitive environment — Independent teams that graduate up from AZYS get 25 percent off the Independent rate for their first AZCP season.

Where are practices and games played?

Indoor sports (volleyball, basketball) play at the Blitz Center in Mesa, on four indoor Gerflor courts. Outdoor sports (baseball, soccer, flag football) play at partner fields across the East Valley. Specific venue assignments are released with each season schedule.

Is there programming on Sundays?

No. Arizona Club Prep does not run practices, games, or tryouts on Sundays.
